About
I began exploring the outdoor spaces near Calgary when I moved here nearly 10 years ago from Vancouver. I discovered that there is nothing I enjoy more than getting outside and capturing the awe I feel from the stunning landscapes that surround me.
This blog is a love letter to the places I love. It's a time capsule of how I enjoyed my youth and strength. And it's a guide for folks who aren't familiar with hiking because they didn't grow up in a sporty family, or make it a big part of their weekend hobbies.
I do plenty of research before I go on hikes and consistently find that the reviews and reports online are written by people who assume a base level of knowledge and fitness that I do not have.
I began this blog to provide an honest take from someone who hikes every now and then, who doesn't go to the gym much and doesn't usually have the right gear.
Take what you like, leave the rest.
